After receiving his B. S. degree, Mr. Chen served in the army as a reserve officer for twenty months. After demobilization he became an assistant engineer for Formosa Plastics Corp. Taipei Taiwan R.O.C and a research engineer for the R&D Center at Wu-tan Automobile and Machinery Corp. Chunghwa , Taiwan , Republic of China. Since 1987, Mr. Chen has been a faculty member at the Department of Agricultural Machinery Engineering (now named the Department of BIO-Industrial Mechatronics Engineering) at National Chung Hsing University Taichung , Taiwan, Republic of China. In 1998, he started a doctoral program in Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington . He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering in 2002.
Dr. Chen is currently an Associate Professor in the department of Bio-industrial Mechatronics Enginerring at National Chung Hsing University .
